Ok race fans, start your engine. Let's speed through the tracks at high speed and show a quick review of the newest racing game on the market. GRID is the new king of racing with its graphics, A.I., instant replays, handling, and much more. The lights greens, so get ready, set, GO. . .
One of my favorite features of GRID is the flashback feature. No longer will you have to get all steamed up over blowing a race during the last lap and having to restart. With this flashback feature you are able to watch the race in instant replay and re-spawn at the moment of your choice. Although you only receive a few of these flashback options, it is great that GRID thought about the gaming racer's perspective.
The handling in the game is not like any of the racing games out there. It has it's own unique feel, and it is up to the player to figure out what works for them. Drifting can be a bit tricky, as the triggers are very touch sensitive. But you are able to survive different obstacles such as bumps from other cars, or a mistake on your part with good lines and braking techniques.
The graphics are absolutely gorgeous. Everything is beautifully constructed and shows everything from exploding parts to the hills in the distance. The only objection I can think of for racers is the realism. If you're a die hard race fan, you may not like the non-traditional style of no pit stops, tuning, or qualifying rounds.
So if your a race fan: suit up, grab your controller, and hit the tracks.
After all: 2nd Place is First Loser!!
